Medicaid Waiver Programs:
Provide individuals with services in the community instead of a nursing facility.
Client choice is important to us!
The client must be willing to receive services in the home. Clients who receive services are eligible for all Medicaid covered services. Services must be provided by Medicaid providers or by a Medicaid contracting managed care organization. The cost of services cannot exceed the cost of placement in a nursing facility or hospital.
In Home Support Services (IHSS)
Client directs, selects and trains their own attendant care with the assistance of an IHSS approved agency. The IHSS agency provides 24 hour backup caregivers, and handles the scheduling, payroll, and taxes for your caregivers so you won’t have to.
Consumer Directed Attendant Support Services (CDASS)
You or your representative must be able to direct your care, hire / fire attendants, even friends and family, based on qualifications that you set. Train and supervise your attendants. Decide when and where you receive services. Set wages for your attendants within your monthly budget. Choose someone you trust to help you meet your needs.

What To Expect
A face-to-face assessment with a case manager will be performed at your residence to assess your functional level of care. He or she will discuss your ability to perform daily living activities, your physical and emotional health, and any services you are currently receiving or may need. Your case manager will send a request to your physician for your diagnosis and medications. Eligibility is based on the information you and your physician provide. Your case manager will verify your Medicaid approval.
When approved for Long Term Care Services you and your case manager will discuss a Plan of Care to provide you with services with a goal to keep you safe in your residence. Your case manager will continue to monitor your services and make suggestions to adjust to your plan of care as needed.
