Montrose, COLO.— Montrose County is proud to announce Stephen Tullos as the new Health and Human Services (HHS) Director. Tullos will oversee all programs to include Adult Services, Child Welfare, Eligibility, Child Support, Nurse Family Partnership, Health Programs (Family Planning, WIC, Immunizations), Environment Health and Emergency Preparedness & Response."Stephen has decades of Public Health experience and is ideally suited for our Health and Human Services operations in Montrose County." said County Manager Ken Norris. “We were very fortunate to attract him to come work for Montrose County. He has been heavily involved in activities and meetings with staff and County Commissioners and he is already doing a great job.”
Stephen received his BS degree in Biology from Harding University in Arkansas, and went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Public Policy Administration from the University of Missouri. Most recently, Stephen was the Director and Health Officer for Yavapai County Community Health Services in Prescott, Arizona. In 2016, he led the Public Health Department to PHAB Accreditation and also served as the Chairman of Northland Cares Board of Directors for an HIV/AIDS treatment facility.
Outside of the office, Stephen likes to spend his free time golfing, fishing, and he is an avid reader.
